Been using 200 AH Polar Series for 6 months and they have been fantastic. They replaced 2 6V AGM that came in my MH. These batteries are top shelf prismatic cells with a quality BMS, which provide fast charging and balancing of cells. I’ve only seen the BMS in balance mode once when battery’s were new. Every time I’ve checked with app they were within 0.10 V. Highly recommended and a great value.

  3. Fantastic customer service from Ben – he reviewed the specs of the solar system on my RV and was able to confirm that it could handle a lithium battery. I bought the Polar Series 200 Ah battery and it was delivered fully charged within days. Looking forward to the camping season!

Q & A

Can these be connected in a series parallel configuration? I am wanting to replace the batteries in my off grid house. Alan asked on March 2, 2024

Yes, they can be connected up to 4 in parallel and 4 in series. If desired, you can create up to a 800ah 48v bank.

I would like to replaced the lead acid batteries with lithiums? What did you need to change in the coach? I know that the Xantrex C60 solar controller in our coach is not compatible with lithium batteries so I’m wondering what else will needed to be upgraded. Our coach is a 2022 Vantana 3717 with 4-100 amp solar panels that was Newmar installed. TIA Chris den Hertog asked on October 27, 2023

Hi Chris, it sounds like you will need a new Solar Controller that is lithium compatible, something similar to the Victron MPPT controllers we sell in our store (https://bearvolts.ca/product/smartsolar-mppt-charge-controller/). Depending on what you currently have, you may also need a new AC to DC charger/converter . We would be happy to jump on a call to walk you through some aspects of the switch over, if this is helpful then please email us at info@bearvolts.ca to schedule a call.
Thanks,
Ben

What battery do I need for DP motor home I need to replace the house batteries. Do I need to replace the onboard inverter charger Robin Fraser asked on October 5, 2023

Hi Robin, this would depend on a few factors, including your usage habits, maximum current draw and how frequently you charge the batteries. Depending on the age of your charger, you may benefit from an upgrade. Can you please email us your contact number to info@bearvolts.ca and some times we can call you to discuss your needs?
