How exactly does the self-heating function work? If it uses incoming charge current, what amperage is needed to run the heater? Can a 200w solar system be expected to produce enough current to run the heater? Alex asked on November 27, 2023

This model is equipped with a 55 watt heater that directly warms the cells, the current draw is approximately 4 amps and is taken from the charge current if sufficient current is available, if there is insufficient current then the heater will not switch on. Your solar panel will likely produce enough current under ideal conditions, however there are many factors that will determine your current output, including what solar charge controller you are using.
